We are counting down the days until the series premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and today as we hit the "five days to go" milestone we are sending you on a mission.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has more chance of success than any series in recent history especially given its ties to the third most successful movie of all time (The Avengers). Both ABC and Marvel obviously have a vested interest in the success of the show and have been doing a phenomenal job promoting the series with online campaigns via social media, advertising on ABC, advertising in theaters, on the radio, on buses, trains, subways, billboards and in the heart of New York City and without a doubt, the word is getting out.
Keeping the pilot under a shroud of secrecy for months helped to build up enormous anticipation and when fans at San Diego Comic Con and the press at a later date were finally able to watch the pilot episode in advance of the September 24th premiere the buzz surrounding the series was certainly kicked up another notch.
It seems impossible for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to fail but even with everything working in its favor, at the end of the day what still matters is how many viewers sit down in front of their television on Tuesday September 24th tuned in to ABC! Remember that there could be one person out there you reach that happens to be a Nielsen viewer. People who are members of a Nielsen Household (people who's viewing habits are closely monitored by Neilsen) are the people that determine the overnight ratings for a show and just one person can represent up to 60,000 viewers! So just by reaching one person you could be making a 60,000 viewer difference when it comes to ratings figures!
With this in mind, we're sending you on a mission to recruit everyone you know to watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. live.
Always be enthusiastic, enthusiasm and excitement is infectious.Talk to family, friends, coworkers or fellow students about the show.Post on social media. Remind people who connect with you on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr etc that the show premieres on Tuesday.Print fliers or business cards and hand out to people you know throughout the week as a handy reminder of when and where to tune in.Print a mini poster and leave in your work lunch room or some other convenient place where people will see it (just don't do anything illegal and don't litter!)Invite people to watch with you. Host a party! (If you know anyone who's a Nielsen viewer, talk them into hosting your party instead!)Let people know the show is a spinoff of the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time.If you see advertising on a bus, building, subway etc don't be afraid to let strangers see you get excited.Don't be negative. Don't tell people to "watch or else the show will be cancelled". Firstly, chances of S.H.I.E.L.D. not being a huge success are very slim but more importantly if you tell someone something might get cancelled you put them off watching all together because people don't want to invest in something that might not stick around. Stay Positive!Don't get pushy. There's a fine line between enthusiastic and annoying, be careful you don't cross that line and put people off.Don't try to make it a competition with other shows, there's room for all, especially with the popularity of DVRs if someone wants to watch another show, don't stop them but remind them they can DVR S.H.I.E.L.D. if they miss it and watching within 3 hours still counts in the over night ratings (assuming said viewer is a Nielsen monitored household).Post a reminder to social media in the hour or two leading up to the premiere with details on when and where to watch. Before you leave work, school, whatever other activities you have on the day, remind your friends, family, co-workers to tune in.Watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. live.Check in to Getglue during the show so we can ensure Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. becomes the #1 Trending Show, you can also collect stickers.During the episode post to social media using the #AgentsofSHIELD tag. Especially Twitter, by getting the tag word on Twitter's trending topics list more random Twitter users will be reminded about or introduced to the show. When you tweet be mindful of spoilers, share your enthusiasm and excitement without giving away too much for those that don't get to watch it at the same time.If you have other suggestions for people please share them in the comments below!
